Logitech G602 Center-button Fix
My Logitech G602 center mouse/scroll wheel button started going; it wouldn't always click, I'd have to do it at a certain angle, etc. Huge pain. I've had it since 2014, and it's been an absolute champ.
Anyway, I found this video to replace the button; the video is pretty much perfect, so I'll just leave my notes and comments below.
- Thank you Logitech for designing a mouse that used the same screw all the way to removing the motherboard! I can't vouch for anything else, but it made re-assembly much easier.
- Two thoughts on the feet pads on the bottom of the mouse:
- Use alcohol to soften the glue and remove the pads in the first place
- Get a replacement set of pads anyway; new pads will help the mouse glide like new.
- The replacement button is the Omron B3F-1000; I got a generic off Amazon for cheap, but here's the link on DigiKey, which is super cheap per part, but shipping is flat.
- Chances are your scroll wheel rubber is also going; I wasn't able to find a replacement part online, but I did find this 3D printable replacement rubber-part that you could get in TPU or Rubber.
- If you don't have access to a 3D printer, check on Etsy or some other maker site to find someone to print a few (just in case of errors or it doesn't fit).
- Make sure you get the actual dimensions for the part and mention it in the purchase request; TPU shrinks differently from PLA, PETG, etc., and you want to make sure it's made to spec.
