"Binky existed in all worlds."

Yo!

This is the first Discworld book I ever read, and so I may be biased in saying it is the best one, but it is easily my favorite book. Pratchett weaves so much metaphor and into each story, and the layers of meaning enable you to return over and over.

The Death books tend to cover themes of humanity, like when Death has an existential crisis. And in many ways, this is a book all about the crisis of existence, and I feel very seen. It's about making the best of your time, of change and death and transitions.

And this book, as all Pratchett books, reminds me of how he loved the oddballs and the weird ones. He didn't over look them, and instead took the time to flesh them out (robed skeletons included). Just lovely writing.
